Antwerp hotel tip: Hotel O Kathedral
Last week team Prêt à Pregnant & The Mom went on an adventure to Antwerp, Belgium. We traveled to Antwerp to create some beautiful new content for you including hotspots, shopping tips, cultural tips and dining tips. Antwerp is the place to be for a Mom weekend away. The city offers so much in terms of fashion, hotspots and cultural sights. In the next few weeks we will share all hotspots and tips with you to make your stay in Antwerp unforgettable. Today we start off with our very first hotel tip; Hotel O Kathedral. We enjoyed our stay in the small and cosy boutique hotel right next to the Kathedral of Antwerp.
This design hotel inspires immediately when entering the room that is decorated with gorgeous Rubens inspired wall paintings that will give you the unique feeling of sleeping of in a painting. The hotel is located in the heart of Antwerp´s historic center walking distance of the main sights, museums, bars, restaurants and shopping streets. The hotel features 33 comfortable and modernly furnished rooms with designer furniture, an open bathroom and hardwood floors.
Upon arrival the friendly team welcomed us with open arms and after a smooth check in procedure we indulged in some delicious chocolates that were waiting for us in the room. The room is also equipped with a coffee / tea maker, something we always appreciate. The hotel is also the home of an in-house chocolate shop and coffee shop. WIFI is free in the hotel and all rooms have air conditioning, which was very much appreciated during our stay as it was 28 degrees. In the morning a delicious buffet breakfast was waiting for us. The buffet offers a lot of (healthy) options with fresh and seasonal ingredients and everything is home made. We indulged in a home made frittata, healthy beetroot salad and crispy fresh croissants.
The best part of the hotel is the location. You are literally in the center of the city surrounded by the Groenplaats and the Grote Markt and most hotspots are within walking distance. After a short walk you can start your shopping spree at the Meir or the Nationalestraat. Also Antwerp South (a very fashionable area) can be reached by foot (a slightly longer walk) or a very fast taxi ride. If you come to Antwerp by car you have various options for parking your car. There are paid parking options very nearby at Parking Grote Markt, Parking Groenplaats or Parking Brabo. In case you want to use all your budget for shopping 😉 just drop your car on the free parking on the St. Michielskaai which is at 10 minutes walking distance. The train station is 15 minutes away by foot and if you arrive with some luggage the best is to hop on to a taxi and within 10 minutes you will arrive at the hotel.
Room prices start at 79 Euro for a small room. We enjoyed our stay and we would definitely stay at this hotel again during a next visit. Stay tuned for much more Antwerp updates in the next few days!
